Old Thatch is a delighful property

Old Thatch is a delightful country property alongside the Basingstoke Canal near Winchfield, Hampshire.  The house is, as its name suggests, a thatched cottage dating back at least 250 years.

There are lawns, trees, borders, shrubs and fields lived in by sheep and donkeys. More details of the gardens, and the history of the property are in the following pages.

The gardens at Old Thatch are open on selected dates for the National Gardens Scheme. Thanks to the generosity of our visitors and the delicious cakes, £4,700 was raised for charity in 2023.

2024 open garden days are 14 April and 9 June.

See diary page for details, including
warning about parking on 14 April.

Open Garden Days are held in aid of  Sebastian’s Action Trust, a leading charity providing holiday homes and practical support for children with life-threatening illnesses.
